Background

For some time, conditions at Smokey Oval Park have been significantly less than desirable leading to under-utilization of this important recreational facility for thousands of families in the Richmond Hill, Ozone Park and South Ozone Park communities. Since that time, Agenda 21 has worked hard to help ensure the park playground was renovated. We are now working to ensure the ball fields are also renovated. Agenda has worked with the local city councilman and the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation to secure $1 million in renovation funding for the full rehabilitation of the Smokey Oval Park ball fields.
